Details of Knowledge Management Certification
Knowledge
Management Certification consists of three certifications for the individuals
of an organization which include Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 certification
awarded by the Global Knowledge Economic Council (GKEC) and the eKnowledgeCenter
(eKC). The Knowledge Management Certification program covers the management
of human knowledge systems in business and government settings. The two
ways of receiving training include e-Learning with a four day face-to-face
workshop or eLearning only. The e-Learning only way of training includes
an online workshop that simulates the training provided in the face-to-face
workshop. The face-to-face and online workshops are designed to train
knowledge professionals on how to plan, analyze, design, manage, and monitor
a knowledge-based initiative, based on two sample types of organizations
such as retail and consulting. The purpose of the Knowledge Management
Certification is to give hands-on exposure that enables participants to
add value to their companies and clients the day they return to work.
There are
three levels of Knowledge Management Certification provided to individuals
which include associate certified knowledge manager, senior certified
knowledge manager, and executive certified knowledge manager. Each level
constitutes different competences and different levels of experience.
Let us see each of these Knowledge Management Certification levels in
detail. The first level is designed to equip a knowledge professional
to assume the role of a senior manager, such as a Chief Knowledge Officer
or Chief Innovation Officer, or to communicate with management regarding
the strategic value of knowledge and to develop business plans and financial
reports justifying the investment.
The training
imparted to the individuals in the level of Knowledge Management Certification
focuses on the strategic planning, financial planning, and analysis side
of knowledge-based professions. In addition, the training program focuses
on designing successful knowledge processing environments. The majority
of program time is spent on how to analyze, model, design, measure, and
transform an environment to help an organization meet its goals faster
and more effectively from a knowledge and innovation management perspective.
The Knowledge Management Certification Program is developed in compliance
to certification standards enforced by the Global Knowledge Economics
Council. The GKEC generates and supervises the test following NOCA NCCA
and ISO 17024 standards.
The Senior
Certified Knowledge Manager training program is the next level Knowledge
Management Certification program. This level is many times more rigorous
than any other Knowledge Management Training program available globally.
The additional competencies in this level include knowledge econometrics
which includes learning curves, diffusion curves, path dependency, innovation
rates, isoquants, and economic cost/benefit analysis, and statistical
analysis which includes basic statistical tools and techniques, drawing
valid statistical inferences, and sigma calculations. In addition, the
competencies in this level include application of knowledge econometrics
to knowledge production system, managerial knowledge economics, and the
role of a chief knowledge officer.
The last
and final level of the Knowledge Management Certification program is the
Executive Certified Knowledge Manager training program which is the continuation
of the Senior Program. Awarding of certification is based on experience,
performance, and the ability to design advanced interventions. In this
level, the candidates learn and practice how to conduct advanced analysis
and perform advanced design and implementation techniques. The Knowledge
Management Certification program focuses on the seamless integration of
knowledge and activity across content domains, space, time, and people.
Participants particularly focus on accelerating the creation and dissemination
of new knowledge in groups, organizations, businesses, and scientific
communities.
